Kadabra Pokédex Information
Kadabra is a Psychic type Pokémon that first appeared in the games Pokémon Red and Blue which released in Japan on 12th September 1999. It evolves from Abra and evolves to Alakazam.
Kadabra is a two-legged Pokémon that is based on the magic word ‘Abracadabra’. Based on its Japanese name, and the presence of a spoon, it is also thought to represent the famous illusionist Uri Geller. In 2002, Uri Geller brought a successful law suit against Pokémon banning them from using images of the Pokémon Kadabra, which he believed were based on his own likeness. In 2022, Geller rescinded the ban allowing Pokémon cards depicting Kadabra to be produced again.
Kadabra is yellow with a brown upper body that resembles a T-shirt and a brown band around its very thick tail. Its lower body is marked with red ‘S’ shaped markings that Geller claimed resembled the letters used by the Nazi SS. Its two feet each have two toes, while its hands each have three fingers, one of which holds a spoon. It has a fox-like face with a long nose and pointed ears. A long, yellow moustache extends out from its face. Using its psychic power, Kadabra levitates as it sleeps. It uses its springy tail as a pillow.
