Mega Evolution is the 15th series of the Pokémon Trading Card game. It was announced in June 2025 and the first expansion set was released on 26th September 2025 with ME01 – Mega Evolution Base Set.
What do we know about Mega Evolution?
As the name suggests, this new series will see the reintroduction of Mega Pokémon, which were a key feature of the XY series. This set will include cards from the Japanese sets Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia.
The set description states:

Over 180 cards
Nearly a dozen Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
More than 15 Trainer cards
More than 50 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations
Cards will be numbered – ??/132
Cards will be marked with the set icon

The artwork for the set Booster Packs has been revealed. There are 4 different designs featuring Mega Gardevoir, Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Lucario and Mega Bulbasaur
Will Mega Evolution feature ex Pokémon?
ex Pokémon will continue to feature in this series, but in addition to regular ex Pokémon, Mega Pokémon will also be designated ex and cards depicting Mega Pokémon ex will have a new symbol.
