What is Prism Energy?

Prism Energy is a Special Energy that was used in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). It has only been released once – in the Black and White Next Destinies set of 2012.

The Prism Energy card provides one Colorless Energy. If the card it is attached to is a Basic Pokémon then it provides one of any type of Energy. The card design features the Colorless Energy symbol.

In the Pokémon TCG, a player can only use an Attack Move if the specified number of Energy are attached. This specified number generally includes one or more Energy that corresponds to the Pokémon type, and / or a number of Colorless Energy. Prism Energy Cards provide one Colorless Energy.

Prism Energy Card Text:

The text on the card reads: ‘React Energy provides Energy. If the Pokémon this card is attached to is a Basic Pokémon, this card provides every type of Energy but provides only 1 Energy at a time.’
