Pokémon Mega Hyper Rare Cards were first introduced with the launch of the Mega Evolution Base Set on 25th September 2025. They are very similar in style to the Gold Hyper Rare cards of the Scarlet & Violet series. They have a unique rarity symbol of a black and gold stylised diamond.
Gold cards were first released in 2013 and up to 2023 they were known as Gold Secret Rare Cards. From 2023 to 2025 they were Gold Hyper Rare Cards.
