Bulbasaur is a popular Generation I Pokémon that first appeared in the game Pocket Monsters Red and Green which were released in Japan on February 27th 1996. It then appeared as a starter Pokémon in the first international games Pokémon Red and Blue which released in 1999. The first Bulbasaur Pokémon card was released in 1999 with the launch of the Original Base Set.
