The released image of the box shows a rectangular format. The box dimensions have not been released but are likely to be the same as previously released ex boxes in the Scarlet and Violet series – around 25cm by 20cm (10in by 8 in).

The artwork for the box features a cut out window which is the same shape as the markings on Palafin’s chest. This is surrounded by a background of blue, purple, pink and white splodges that resembles an impressionist painting.

The back of the box states:
“From Zero to Hero!
When all seems lost in battle, call on a hero to save the day! With its Zero to Hero Ability, Palafin can make a stunning transformation into the powerful Palafin ex ready to pummel opponents with the might of an ocean wave.”

The recommended retail price for the box is £21.99 in the UK and $21.99 in the US.

What are the contents of the Palafin ex Box?

The contents of the box have been revealed:

1 Palafin ex card SVP126
1 oversize Palafin ex SVP126
1 holo Palafin
1 holo Finizen
4 Pokémon TCG booster packs
A code card for Pokémon TCG Live

Is the Palafin ex Box good value for money?

The box contains one jumbo and one regular sized Palafin ex card, Palafin and Finizen rare cards and 4 Booster packs.

Individual booster packs generally retail for around £4 in the UK and $4 in the US. The Palafin ex card is a Black Star Promo card and would likely cost around £4 / $4, while the jumbo version could also fetch around £4 / $4. The two holo cards could be worth around £2.50 / $2.50.

The Four Booster packs would therefore cost £16 ($16) adding the expected value of the four cards takes the total to around £29.00 or $29.00 which is higher than the recommended retail price in the UK and the US. The box is therefore good value for money.
