Pokémon Generation V Trainers Complete List

 

Pokémon Generation V launched in Japan on 18th September 2010 and made its international debut in March 2011 with Pokémon Black and White. Pokémon Black 2 and White 2  was released in 2012 and is also a Generation V game. The games are set in the Unova region.

What are Pokémon Generation V Trainers?

Pokémon Generation V Trainers are those trainers that are found in the Generation V games – Black and White and Black and White 2. Pokémon Trainers are people who capture and train Pokémon and then compete to become a Champion. Along their journey they compete with other Pokémon trainers. 

 

Trainers are grouped into different classes depending on their ability. There are a total of 33 different Trainer Classes introduced in the Generation V games. The majority of these are generic trainers that are not individually named but are known by a descriptive noun e.g. Backpacker or Janitor. They can be found in many different locations where they challenge the player to a match.

More experienced Trainers become Gym Leaders and these Trainers are named. There are 11 Generation V Trainers that are Gym Leaders in Pokémon Black and White and 8 in Black 2 and White 2. Players compete against 8 Gym leaders to win Gym Badges. When all 8 Gym Badges are collected the player can battle the Elite Four.

The Elite Four are four very experienced and strong Trainers. These Trainers are also given names. Once the Elite Four are defeated, the player can go on to battle the Champion who is the last Trainer to defeat the Elite Four. The Champion for Generation V is Alder.

Team Plasma are malevolent Trainers that exploit Pokémon for their own aims. They are led by boss Ghetsis and try to liberate Pokémon from their owners so that they are the only ones that have control over Pokémon. In Black and White 2 Team Plasma try to control Unova by freezing it.
