What is the Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic Box Set?
The Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic Box Set is a new product that was announced in the ‘Pokémon Presents’ video on Pokémon Day, 27th February 2023. It is expected to release in Japan in October 2023 and internationally soon after. It is expected to retail in the region of £300 or $300.
The set is being released as a ‘timeless classic’ that can will withstand the test of time and allow players to enjoy the classic game for generations.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic refers to the original version of the Game that was first released in Japan in 1996 and later in North America in 1998. The game follows the rules of the original game rather than using more recent rules and mechanics. Players use decks of 60 cards made up of Pokémon cards, Trainer cards, and Energy cards. The goal of the game is to defeat your opponent’s Pokémon and win prize cards.
The cards included in the set will feature reprints of cards from the original set. They will have unique numbering but will not be legal for tournament play.

1 Premium foldable game board covered with a fabric surface
