The Pokémon Twilight Masquerade release date has been announced and will release Worldwide on 24th May 2024. Twilight Masquerade is the sixth main expansion set of the Generation IX Series and is designated SV06.
What do we know so far about Pokémon Twilight Masquerade?
As the set name suggests, this set will feature Ogerpon and will include cards depicting Ogerpon with its many masks. It is also likely to include other Pokémon featured in the Teal Mask expansion of Scarlet and Violet.
Twilight Masquerade is comprised of the Japanese sets Crimson Haze and Mask of Change
Twilight Masquerade will contain more than 167 cards including:
Six ACE SPEC Trainer and Special Energy cards
7 Pokémon ex
7 Tera Pokémon
21 Illustration rare Pokémon
11 Special Illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
6 Hyper Rare Gold etched cards
Cards will be numbered – ???/167
All cards will be marked with the set symbol

The artwork for the set Booster Packs has been revealed. There are 4 different designs featuring Ogerpon, Bloodmoon Ursaluna, Sinistcha and Dragapult.
Will the Ancient and Future Mechanic continue in Twilight Masquerade?
The Ancient and Future mechanics launched in November 2023 with the release of the expansion set Paradox Rift which included a number of Paradox Pokémon that are ancient and futuristic versions of existing Pokémon.
None of the cards revealed or shown as Promo cards in images of products to be released feature the Ancient or Future mechanics, so it could be that this set will not include these mechanics. A number of images of the set cards and Promo Cards have been Although not officially confirmed, Promo Cards from the Elite Trainer Boxes are stamped with Ancient or Future depending on their type, so it is expected that this will continue.
Will Twilight Masquerade include Ace Spec Cards?
Ace Spec Cards returned to the Trading card game in March 2024 with the release of the Temporal Forces set on 22nd March 2024.
Pokémon Ace Spec cards are Trainer Item cards that have unique, special effects that are beneficial to the player of those cards. These effects range from drawing extra cards, to recovering Pokémon from the discard pile, to granting immunity to certain effects. As with any new mechanic the return of these cards will introduce new strategies into the Trading Card Game (TCG).
Seven Ace Spec Cards were released in the Temporal Forces set and the set release information shows that a further six cards will be included in Twilight Masquerade.
