Grass Gym Leaders are Trainers that specialise in the training and battling with Grass type Pokémon. They proved their ability and have become leaders of a City Gym.
Throughout the Pokémon game series, players have to defeat Gym Leaders before challenging the Elite Four and finally the existing Champion in order to win the games. Within the games, a number of Gym Leaders only use Grass type Pokémon. To date there are no Elite Four members that specialise in Grass Pokémon.

Together with Chili and Cress, Cilan is one of the three leaders of the Striaton City Gym in the games Pokémon Black and White.
