What is Counter Energy?
Counter Energy is a Special Energy that is used in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). It has only been released once – in the Sun and Moon Crimson Invasion set of 2017. The set has two Counter Energy cards, one in the regular set and one secret rare.

Counter Energy cards provide one Colorless Energy, but if the player has more prize cards than their opponent then this card provides two of any energy so long as the card is not attached to a GX or EX Pokémon. The card design features two Colorless Energy symbols.
In the Pokémon TCG, a player can only use an Attack Move if the specified number of Energy are attached. This specified number generally includes one or more Energy that corresponds to the Pokémon type, and / or a number of Colorless Energy. Counter Energy Cards provide one Colorless Energy or two of any Energy if certain conditions are met.

The text on the card reads:
‘This card provides 
Energy.
If you have more Prize cards remaining than your opponent, and if this card is attached to a Pokémon that isn’t a Pokémon-GX or Pokémon-EX, this card provides every type of Energy but provides only 2 Energy at a time.‘
