Mabosstiff ex Showcase Collection Release Date, Info

What is the Mabosstiff ex Showcase?

The Mabosstiff ex Showcase is a new Collection Box, featuring the Pokémon Mabosstiff, that is scheduled for release on 23rd February 2024, the same day as the Mabosstiff ex box. This is the first time, since this site was created in 2021, that two products with the same featured character have been released on the same day.

It may be that Pokémon are releasing this pared-down version of the Mabosstiff ex box as a cheaper option for players / collectors that just want the promo card. This box features Mabosstiff a new Generation IX Pokémon and partner Pokémon of Arven. It has an expected retail price of £11.99 in the UK and $11.99 in the US. At the time of writing we have not found any stores that are stocking this product.

Mabosstiff ex Showcase

The Mabosstiff ex Showcase is scheduled for release a month after the launch of the Paldean Fates expansion set, on the same day as the Mabosstiff ex Box.

The released image of the box shows a square format. The box dimensions have not been released but it will be smaller than the alternative ex box which is 25cm by 20cm (10in by 8 in).

The artwork for the box features swirls of grey and orange, with an image of the contents of the box in the centre. Next to the contents image is a statement that Contents May Vary.

What are the contents of the Mabosstiff ex Showcase?

The contents of the box have been revealed:

1 Mabosstiff ex card
3 Pokémon TCG booster packs
A code card for Pokémon TCG Live

Is the Mabosstiff ex Box good value for money?

The box contains one regular sized Mabosstiff ex card and 3 Booster packs.

Individual booster packs generally retail for around £4 in the UK and $4 in the US. The Mabosstiff ex card is a double rare, half art, card and would likely cost around £2.50 / $2.50.

The three Booster packs would therefore cost £12 ($12) adding the expected value of the featured card takes the total to around £14.50 or $14.50 which is higher than the expected retail price. The box is therefore reasonable value for money but not exceptional.
