What are Potion Energy Cards?

Potion Energy Cards are Special Energy Cards that are used in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). They were first introduced in 2000 with the launch of the Team Rocket expansion set and last seen in the Legendary Collection set of 2002.

Potion Energy cards provide one Colorless Energy. They also allow players to remove 1 damage counter from their Pokémon. There has only been one design for these cards and it includes the Colorless Energy symbol. (Scroll to bottom for timeline and gallery of all cards released to date).

In the Pokémon TCG, a player can only use an Attack Move if the specified number of Energy are attached. This specified number generally includes one or more Energy that corresponds to the Pokémon type, and / or a number of Colorless Energy. Potion Energy Cards provide one Colorless Energy.

 

Potion Energy Cards Text:

The text on the cards includes the following text: ‘If you play this card from your hand, remove 1 damage counter from the Pokémon you attached it to, if it has any.
Potion Energy provides Colorless Energy Colorless Energy. (Doesn’t count as a basic Energy card.)’
